Praying with Our Senses: Taste and See the Goodness of the Lord

“Make prayer the first step in anything worthwhile that you attempt” (St. Benedict).

God created us in our bodies to fully experience the world through our senses of taste, touch, smell, sight and hearing.  By using our senses, in conjunction with our emotions, imagination, creativity and intuition, we can grow in connection to self, God and others. Engage your senses in diverse prayer practices like Visio and Lectio Divina, journaling, guided meditation, contemplation and Mass, using words, images, music, creativity, and movement. The Faces of Christ art collection will be on display at the Center at this time and used during this retreat as well.  Jodi Blazek Gehr, an Oblate with Christ the King Priory, will lead this retreat.
