Sacred Heart Appeal

Traditionally, the month of June is dedicated in honor of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Pope Leo constantly expresses God’s love for all humankind, a love that I could witness especially during visits to Tanzania, Kenya and Uganda at our hospitals, observing mothers and their newborn children or toddlers waiting patiently to be seen by a doctor or nurse. 

We are aware that the medical experts in developing countries need to look after the most vulnerable, especially children, to diagnose childhood diseases or other health issues that could be even more problematic later in life. At the “mother and child clinic” the development of a baby is monitored, while at the same time new mothers are being educated on subjects like nutrition and hygiene. In recent years we have been confronted with pediatric dialysis services! There is a need for additional mobile clinics to reach villages. We estimate a budget of $150,000 so that we can provide the basic services at the major hospitals operated or sponsored by the Missionary Benedictines. 

Let me be bold in my hope and expectations by inviting you to help us, as your financial resources allow, so that we may provide medical care and education for mothers with newborn children! They are the future of a country!
