The season of Lent is our annual invitation from the Church to a deeper relationship with Jesus.  The ancient Christian art of icons provides "windows into heaven" inviting all who contemplate them with "eyes of the heart" to a greater love and following of Jesus. Join with fellow Lenten pilgrims as we stop, gaze in contemplation, reflect, and share insights with a variety of icons touching on some fundamental themes of faith.

Father James L. Secora, MDiv, MEd, from Ames, IA, is a priest of the Dubuque Archdiocese. Ordained in 1975, his ministerial assignments have included: high school teaching, instructor in permanent diaconate formation, chairperson of the archdiocese's worship commission, 33 years as parish pastor and presenter at various workshops. Fr. Jim is an Oblate of Christ the King Priory in Schuyler. He holds a B.A. from Loras College, Dubuque, IA.; M.Div. from St. Mary's Seminary and University, Baltimore, MD; M.Ed. from Boston College, Newton, MA. Praying and reflecting with icons are essential components of his prayer and ministerial life.
