Icon Writing Workshop (Dmitri Andreyev)


Christian icons have served as “Windows into Heaven” for nearly 2,000 years.

Iconography begins with prayer and is executed with the sense that the seven days of creation are being represented in the artistic endeavor. This workshop is an instruction in icon writing in the Byzantine-Russian tradition. Its objective is the completion of one icon, provided attendance for full six (6) days and the completion of daily assignments as allocated by the instructor. For beginning, as well as for intermediate and advanced icon writers.

The total cost includes room board and tuition (36 hours of studio instruction and all art supplies)

Dmitri Andreyev


Dmitri Andreyev is the son of the well-known contemporary Russian Master Iconographer Vladislav Andreyev and trained under him. He is part of the Prosopon School of Iconology founded by his father, which maintains studios throughout the United States, Russia and Europe. Their commitment to iconography has led to thousands of new students practicing iconography through Prosopon’s workshops.
