Prayer: Responding to the Word of God in Creation (Fr. Dick Hauser)


The aim of this workshop is to develop a deeper understanding of the dynamics of personal prayer in order to improve the quality of our own prayer. Special emphasis will be placed on prayer as responding to the word of God in creation. Texts for prayer and reflection will be taken from Scripture, Pope Francis, Thomas Merton and Ignatius Loyola.

Father Richard J. Hauser, SJ, S.T.L., Ph. D., is professor emeritus of theology at Creighton University in Omaha, assistant to the president for mission and associate director of the Master’s Program in Christian Spirituality.  He authored, In His Spirit and Moving in the Spirit (both Paulist), plus Finding God in Troubled Times (Loyola). Friday, 7:30 p.m. to Saturday, Closing with Mass at 4:00 p.m.

Father Richard J. Hauser, SJ, S.T.L., Ph. D., has served as chair of the Department of Theology, director of the Graduate Programs in Christian Spirituality and rector of the Jesuit Community at Creighton University in Omaha. He is currently professor emeritus of theology, assistant to the president for mission and associate director of the Master’s Program in Christian Spirituality.  His books include, Moving in the Spirit: Becoming a Contemplative in Action (Paulist Press); and Finding God in Troubled Times (Loyola Press). He also published numerous articles on theology and spirituality.
