Men's Retreat: "A Man after God's Own Heart." (cf. 1 Samuel 13:14) (Br. August Schaefer, OSB, Deacon Mark Capoun, Fr. Thomas Leitner, OSB, Br. Moses Macalalag, OSB)


It is our goal as men, with the help of God’s grace, to become men after God’s own heart.
In our modern culture men face many pressures and temptations, especially regarding their roles as husbands and fathers. During this retreat we will draw from Holy Scripture, as well as from the wisdom of the saints, from the teaching of the Church, and from modern science, to come up with a vision and our own plan for being men of God and men fully alive during this Year 2025! The schedule of this retreat. includes brief conferences, silence, Mass, Confession, fellowship, and spiritual direction. Open to all ages. Scholarships available.

Br. August Schaefer, OSB


Brother August Schaefer is a monk of Mount Michael Abbey in Elkhorn, NE, and teaches at Mount Michael High School. He holds a Master's of Divinity from St. John's University in Collegeville, MN, and serves as Vocation Director for his monastic community.

 

Deacon Mark Capoun


Deacon Mark Capoun lives with his wife Lynne in Omaha, NE, and ministers at St. Wenceslaus Parish.

 

Fr. Thomas A. Leitner, OSB


Father Thomas Leitner, OSB, holds a Master’s of Religious Studies from St. Louis University, St. Louis, MO, and serves as administrator of St. Benedict Center. He has been a Benedictine monk for almost forty years and practiced contemplative prayer for 45 years.

 

Br. Moses Macalalag, OSB


Brother Moses Macalalag, OSB, is a Registered Nurse. Originally from the Philippines, he is a monk of Muensterschwarzach Abbey, Germany, and has been assigned to Christ the King Priory, Schuyler, NE.
